Frequently asked questions
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a healthcare model where patients pay a simple monthly membership fee directly to their doctor. This membership covers most primary care services and gives you direct access to your physician—without insurance getting in the way.
By removing insurance from routine care, we’re able to spend more time with patients, offer transparent pricing, and focus on personalized, relationship-based medicine.
No. We do not bill insurance for primary care services.
However, many patients still keep insurance (often a high-deductible plan) for things like hospitalizations, specialists, imaging, or emergencies. We’re happy to help coordinate your care when insurance is involved outside our office.
Yes. Patients with Medicare are welcome to join. Our membership covers your primary care services directly and is separate from Medicare. Many patients choose to keep Medicare Part B for coverage of labs, imaging, specialists, and hospital care. Some also carry a supplemental (Medigap) plan for additional protection against larger medical expenses. We do not bill Medicare for services covered under your membership. If you have questions about how your specific Medicare coverage fits with our model, we’re happy to discuss it with you or put you in touch with an insurance broker who is familiar with this model.
Yes. If you have insurance, you can use it for services outside our practice.
We can also help you access transparent, often lower-cost cash pricing for labs and imaging when that makes more sense than insurance.
Your membership includes:
• Annual physical exams and well-child visits
• Unlimited office visits
• Same-day or next-day appointments
• Longer visits (no rushing)
• Chronic disease management
• In-office procedures
• Direct communication with your physician by phone, text, or secure messaging
There are no copays and no surprise bills for included services.
Most services are included in the membership fee.
Some services are not included in the membership, such as:
• Certain procedures
• Medications dispensed in office
• Labs or imaging done outside the practice
• Certain forms, exams, or services required for employment or DOT certification
All pricing is transparent and discussed in advance. No surprises.

In many cases, yes. DPC memberships are often eligible for payment using HSA or FSA funds, but rules can vary.
We recommend checking with your HSA/FSA administrator or tax professional for confirmation.
No. Because your care is covered by a monthly membership, there are no individual visit charges to submit to insurance. Insurance plans do not reimburse Direct Primary Care membership fees.
Yes. We provide care for children, adolescents, and adults, including well-child visits and routine pediatric care.
Because we limit the number of patients in our practice, we’re able to offer same-day or next-day appointments for urgent issues whenever possible.
You also have direct access to your physician for questions that may not require an office visit.
We help coordinate referrals and advocate for you throughout the process.
While specialist and hospital care are not included in the membership, we work with you to navigate insurance, find high-value options, and avoid unnecessary costs.
Not exactly.
While both models emphasize access and personalized care, Direct Primary Care is typically far more affordable and focuses on removing insurance bureaucracy rather than layering it on top.
